I joined the school in April 2017, after Mrs Jones retired with twenty- one year’s service at the school. I am pleased that the school continues to build on Mrs Jones’ legacy; with it’s excellent reputation, strong Catholic ethos, warm family atmosphere and determination to be the best it can be. At St Mary’s we strive for Academic excellence every moment of the day as well as ensuring that our pupils and staff are nurtured to grow their talents in all areas and above all are happy!

Saint Anne’s have loved learning about Baptism this week alongside their visit to Saint Mary’s church ⛪️. What wonderful role play in their continuous provision!

The whole school have been encountering the faith of Judaism these past 2 weeks. Today Year 6 had a simple Seder meal in the classroom, where we shared blackcurrant juice to represent the wine and the matzah which is the unleavened bread 🍞. We all enjoyed this!

Today Saint Anne’s visited St Mary’s church. They met Father Paul and he showed us some of the special places, pictures and objects in church. He talked to us about Baptism and we shared with him what we had been learning about in class. Finally we said a prayer and Father Paul blessed us. It was exciting to visit church together for the first time! Thank you Father Paul 🙏

Year 6 went to John Storer House, on the way to swimming, to give all the donations from Harvest. Well done Saint Mary’s for being so generous 👏

October- the month of the Holy Rosary📿 . We ask Mary as our school Saint to guide us this month in all we do. The Chaplaincy team have set a Rosary challenge for all the classes to say a decade of the Rosary daily, with a different intention each day. Well done Saint Mary’s.
