This website is intended to help you discover more about the life and work of St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy.
Our first aim is to help your child settle well and enjoy school. We recognise that as a parent or guardian, you are the first educator of your child and we aim to work with you to encourage your child to begin to grow into an independent and responsible citizen.
St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy is a good school, inspired and guided by Gospel Values. We put Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church at the centre of everything we do and aspire for academic excellence for every child, growing with Jesus ti be the best they can be. People who visit St Mary’s for the first time comment on how warm, welcoming and friendly the school is. Our “Family Atmosphere” is built on a coaching and nurturing ethos.

We are delighted to announce that we will be running two dedicated football-only holiday camps during Summer 2026.
Designed for young footballers who love the game, our camps provide an exciting schedule packed with coaching, skill development, small-sided games, competitions, and plenty of fun.
Whether your child comes along with friends or joins us independently, everyone is welcome.

Saint Anne’s have been learning about where rain comes from. They have been recounting their Zoo visit - the children have produced some wonderful sentences this week. In Maths they’ve enjoyed learning to rotate shapes to complete puzzles and make shape pictures. In RE they have been learning about the celebration of Pentecost - the birthday of the church. Which led to our visit to church to celebrate the Ascension 🙏

Celebration of the Word led by Year 1 on the theme Pentecost 🔥. A reminder it is cultural day tomorrow- children can come to school in cultural clothes. We can’t wait to see all your cultures and celebrate our Diversity at Saint Mary’s.

Year 1 enjoyed an afternoon at the new park exploring playground equipment for their DT learning. They also identified physical and human features as part of their Geography learning on the local area 🩵. Well done Year 1!
