Dear Parents, Guardians and Visitors,
This website is intended to help you discover more about the life and work of St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy.
Our first aim is to help your child settle well and enjoy school. We recognise that as a parent or guardian, you are the first educator of your child and we aim to work with you to encourage your child to begin to grow into an independent and responsible citizen.
St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy is a good school, inspired and guided by Gospel Values. We put Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church at the centre of everything we do and aspire for academic excellence for every child, growing with Jesus ti be the best they can be. People who visit St Mary’s for the first time comment on how warm, welcoming and friendly the school is. Our “Family Atmosphere” is built on a coaching and nurturing ethos.

Yesterday morning, Year 1 and Saint Anne’s enjoyed a Mass led by Father David. He explained each part of the Mass and some of the children led in the readings and prayers. Thank you Father David for always taking time to teach and lead us in our Catholic faith 🙏

All families welcome- we are looking forward to sharing the children’s sporting talents they have been working hard on in PE. Please can all children come in their PE kits. Please send them in with hats and water bottles. We are sorry, but we cannot provide seating for families who are watching. Please bring this if needed. The FOSM are giving free ice poles to the children afterwards 🍦

Year 1 have been learning all about toys and how Birthdays were celebrated in the past. To answer some of their enquiry questions, the Year 1 children visited 2 of the local care homes to ask questions and draw their answers with the residents. Thank you to the care homes for always allowing these experiences 💙💛
