Dear Parents, Guardians and Visitors,
This website is intended to help you discover more about the life and work of St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy.
Our first aim is to help your child settle well and enjoy school. We recognise that as a parent or guardian, you are the first educator of your child and we aim to work with you to encourage your child to begin to grow into an independent and responsible citizen.
St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy is a good school, inspired and guided by Gospel Values. We put Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church at the centre of everything we do and aspire for academic excellence for every child, growing with Jesus ti be the best they can be. People who visit St Mary’s for the first time comment on how warm, welcoming and friendly the school is. Our “Family Atmosphere” is built on a coaching and nurturing ethos.
A visit from @joelfearon6 on Friday where all classes took part in circuit training. At the end we enjoyed an assembly where Joel taught us to just be brave! A reminder that all sponsorship forms need to be brought back by this Friday.

Happy Mothers Day🌷🩷💐💛
Thank you to the Saint Mary’s children who read at the 11.15 Mass and gave thanks to all special people in our lives by handing out flowers to mothers, grandmas, aunties and motherly figures 💙

BRITISH SCIENCE WEEK 🧫🔭🔬⚗️🧬🥼🧪🧑🔬👩🔬
Thank you so much to the families who joined us for our Science quiz and carousel of activities yesterday afternoon. The children enjoyed making and designing aeroplanes, boats, moon buggies, towers and finding mini beasts. Well done to Year 6 for helping and being great leaders. We have definitely enjoyed exploring the theme of CURIOSITY in Science this week!

As part of our Geography learning, Little Red Riding Hood brought Year 1 some goodies in her basket from the 4 countries in the United Kingdom. We tried English scones, Welsh cakes, Northern Irish potato cakes and Scottish shortbread. Before the children could try these, they had to share the facts about each country including their capital city, flower, symbol and traditional foods 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
